=.= Coins in Australia..

Australia is really fill with a lot of foreigners. I have got prove here. From my daily spendings over here, i actually got a few coins from other country instead of Australia currency. I have got 1 Singapore dollar, 20 Malaysia cent and 5 New Zealand cent.
=.= Those students should reallygive the correct currency as it really does caused inconveniences.

New Zealand 5 cent

Malaysia 20 cent

Singapore 1 dollar
This coin cause some trouble for me as i mistook it for Australia 2 dollar coin. The size and colour almost the same. It was then I have a check on my coins and found the other two foreign coins.

My new poker set.

Poker. It is a game played by many here. Basically we can hear poker everywhere even among the students. After visiting the Crown casino, I was amazed by the pokey player in it. Their calm and cool way of playing the game attracted me. Heard from Justin that Daniel Chua is very good at this, did push me to meet up my old good friends from primary as soon as possible.

Manage to meet his today as some of the MC gathered for a movie at Melbourne central. Thanks to Melissa and Choon Yauw who were a bit late, i was able to catch up with my old pal beside asking him bout poker game.

Thanks to Daniel, I manage to get a set too at a very cheap price. Metal suitcase. Seems pro.

Inside is filled with, 500 casino 11.5 gram of metal inserted chips, 2 decks of playing cards, 5 red colour dice, 1 dealer chip, and two pair of keys to lock the case.
<< Nice view??

The keys really complete the set. I never know that there will be keys with it.

Seem like poker will be part of my life now. Have been eagerly to try my skills on the real poker against different people for quite sometimes. Playing it online and in real is totally different.
Anyway, I will be joining the beginners tournament at Crown Casino on the coming friday. Wish me luck people.

Some places in Mebourne..

Been here for quite sometime and I have been to a few places basically for food so that I can sustain my ife. Unlike Malaysia, we have a lot of choices at different hours of the day. Here in Australia, a lot of the restaurant close early and there is only a few left for us to hangout at night.

When we are in Malaysia, looking for a good place to eat supper is not difficult. Mamaks "indian style restaurant" can be found anywhere at anytime. They operate 24 hours for at least 6 days a week. Here, ussually after 10, LAMBS wil be a good choice for supper. Situated at the Lygon street not far from a lot of student accomodation, it is easy to get there.

Serving not only burgers, they also have solvasky. Basically is wrapped meat in flour made wrappers. kinda similar to kebab in Malaysia. They do have a wide range of choices of meat such at beef, lamb, chicken, and others. Cost at Aud10, it is not only serve in large portion but also very tasty. Choon Yauw and Justin do had a hard time trying to finish their servings.

From here, we can see that Er Kai is struggling to eat his solvasky.

The solvasky is served with meat and vegetables in it. It is quite big and eating it can be very messy. In the picture we can see that the solvasky is in a mess when Er Kai is halfway finishin his.

Another nice place to hangout. According to a lot of boys, this place does not only serve good ice-cream as well as the waitress here are very pretty. Let's forget bout the girls. The ice-cream here is famous around Mabourne for its taste. Especially their durian and pandan favoured ice-cream.
The signboard. Lookout for this when you are walking along Lygon street.

My favourite durian and pandan together. Their ice-cream is being sold at reasonable price and it is crowded everyday. Remember! It is close on Monday. Basicaly an ideal place to hangout.

SEOULIA. Korean buffet restaurant. This restaurant is a bit far from Melbourne. It is situated at BoxHill just around BoxHill train station.
The buffet here might not have a variety of choices like those in Malaysia but this is the best i had tried so far. In the picture on the right, that is just a smal part of the restaurant where we pick our food from.

The special things is, we barbeque our meat on a pig-like pan as shown in the picture. Nicely shaped and easy to use. It is way better than Malaysia local KOREAN BBQ plaza. Besides, their food is fresher and tastier too. Best korean BBQ i ever had. Who say only Malaysia provide good food?

Beside than food, we also visited junkyard sales. Kai and I being pulled my Chanelle early in the morning to attent such fantastic festival. It is special as we do not have it in Malaysia. Kinda good festival as it can help to produce less rubbish. I guess*
Mostly is girls' clothes being sold there. Kai was complaining that girls always shop too much and this what happen. They have to either sell them or keep the clothes.
Some stall selling their junks.

Guess how much does this teddy bear cost? Kai found it at the festival.
Hope you guys are close to guessing it.
It cost Aud220. EXPENSIVE? I still wondering why it is so expensive.

That's all for now. In future I might update lesser since i am starting classes tomorrow.

Casino visit..

Unlike in KL, we need to be 21 years old for us to visit the casino and there is only one and that is the GENTING casino. Here in Australia i finally manage to get into one and have a look myself. Their legal age is just 18 years old. FINALLY...

After sending my application on a new application on my accomodation, Choon Yauw finally decided to pay Crown a visit. Crown is basically the only casino i know that existed in Melbourne for the time being.

The place look normal from outside. Without the big "casino-like signboard", I think I will jus take is as another normal looking building with hotel as well as shopping centre in it. It was the scene i took as soon as i got down from the tram.

Beside that, we can view the sea from outside the crown. Such magnificent view of the sea from the place.

The view of Yarra river that is just beside Crown. It is link to the sea. Maybe some day i will have to take a stroll down the river at night.

Justin Wan walking into the casino as I and Choon Yauw following from behind. There is another person too but somehow he is not with us at the moment.

This picture is blur. Choon Yauw ask me better not to take picture in the casino and i was in a rush to take one before i keep my phone. Basically we were walking down the slot machines.
According to Choon Yauw, this casino was normal compare to Genting's one. To me it is my first experience. There are quite a number of people around. Mostly asians. We all went straight to poker area as Justin was planning to have a go there. We made quite a scene by walking around those poker tables and spectate the games. Somwhow those players got irritated as most of them eyed on us suspiciously and afraid that we might be helping other players from their back.
Finally, Justin and Kenneth decide to play Baccarat. Poker sure need a large sum of money as a start. Me and Choon Yauw will be standing at a side looking at them. To me, i do not gamble with my parents money. Maybe some other day when i earn my own money then i will have a try.
It was exciting to see Kenneth play Baccarat. He was lucky today. From Aud100, ha manage to win back Aud250+. It just took him half an hour to do so. Both of them only played for awhile as Kenneth suddenly felt not right and decide to stop. Well, he just want the fun out of it instead of trying to win the casino money. Maybe that is a very good attitude to be in a casino.
It was indeed quite an experience for me to have alook inside. Well, manage to visit quite a number of place before I start my classes next week.

A new life in Melbourne..

Since I am no longer in KL, i think it is time for me to start a new blog. Has been trying to start a new blog but has been lazy and it took me quite awhile to think of a new post.

For the time being i am staying in Melbourne even though i am studying at Monash University, Clayton campus. It was only a month ago when i finally decide to pursue engineering as my career. Lucky me to have a mum who has always care a lot bout my future persuade me to choose either actuarial science or engineering for my future. Finally i chose engineering and came to Australia.

It was the first time for me to leave my family for such a long time. I am quite excited bout it as I will completely be on my own in a diffrent place. My parents was reluctant to let me go overseas but they have no choice. It is for my future. The eight hours flight in the plane was long as I was traveling alone. In the plane i realised that i am going to miss a lot of things back in Malaysia but still i am looking forward to explore and discover a new place. Apart from that, i must also make sure that i do not get sidetrack. My main objective is to study and obtain my PR here.

When i check out at the airport, Keith, was there waiting and welcome me. He was responsible for sending me to my accomodation. However I was not the only one he will be fetching. There are a few more other students. While waiting, I manage to make some new friends. However not only they are from different country, they will not be studying at the same place with me. I don't really mind. Maybe i will meet them somewhere in the future. After that, I made some friends from Malaysia. They are Miol, Chanelle, CJ and one "i forgotten".

When i reached Boon Hong's apartment as in my accomodation. I went "WOW". Lucky Boon Hong. He got such a nice place to stay in Melbourne. I am lucky too i guess. As for the first day, there are nothing much. Been to lunch with Siew Jo and his brother and then slept for 17 hours as i was too tired.

Second day, i went to the market and bought some fruits as well as some food. WTH. Their raw food was F***ing cheap. I am taking things as earning to spending. Imagine 3 litre of full cream milk ony cost me AUSD 1.++. I don't get that in Malaysia. Even their fruits and everything is cheap too. "Wow, I really must work and spend here." Lucky me that Choon Yauw and Justin came over to find me. Had dinner as well as some ice-cream. Basically the ice-cream was quite famous among the students. It was really crowded in the shop. As 1st i thought maybe it was bacause the girls working there are pretty but i realised that their ice-cream was the one that has been attracting the customers.

Chanelle brought me to a bar called Young and Jackson on the 3rd day. Chanelle, I think she was my first friend that i made in Australia. Outgoing and funny girl. Basically after that we two went out quite a lot and met up with some of her friends. Besides that i did manage to meet up with a lot of high school friends over here. Guess that quite a number of Wesleyan came here too.

My very 1st friend.. Chanelle.

Bartender at Young and Jackson's

My very 1st BEER in Australia.

Fast forward to my orientation....

It is not easy to travel from Melbourne city to Monash Clayton. Took me 1.5 hour to reach there. =.= I really should stay around Cayton. Basically my university was like a small town. It is too big. I think whatever a student need, it has been provided in the uni. However one thing is, Claton do not have night life. In Melbourne city at least there are places for yam cha. ONLY YAM CHA(As in Having supper). Other shop all close early and there are only a few cafes that will open to 1 or 2 am. It is still consider early comparing with the KL lifestyle. I should make more friends in Clayton. Maybe i might find something to do. Thanks to friendly Danny, I manage to make a few friends in Monash. I can see that Monash life will not be difficult for me.

VIC night market...

SUZUKI live band infront of the market.

Surprisingly, they do have night market here. Considering the lifestyle here, i thought everyone retire early to their home early. I was even more surprise that the night market event was called SUZUKI Night. Suzuki is a Japan branding for motor vehicles. Nevermind that. However, i could not find any excuse for me to check the place out. It was recommended by my friend, Jeremy. He did not dissapoint me. Even though i was very tired for the day after walking around Ikea for furnitures as well as Clayton to find an accomodation, i still find that the night market was fun. From the pisture, it seem that it was too early to call it a night. However it was around 7.30pm when the picture was taken. Basically the market sells a lot of Australian cultural items as well as food. However not all the food provided are local cuisine. Tried out some of the food and it was delicious.

And ofcos the beer. I won't miss it. It was sold almost everywhere at the market.
